Making Connections Day Term 3 Friday 28th August 2026
$150.00 – $250.00
This Making Connections Day has a twist from our usual Connections Days at FMG Stadium – it’s a bus tour of our very own local Waikato schools.
The purpose of a Waikato Principals’ Association bus tour of schools is to create a structured opportunity for school leaders to step outside their own context and observe leadership and school systems in action across a range of different environments. Principals will be able to see and hear about leadership “live” in practice.
The tour will strengthen professional networks and support conversations between principals during travel and visits often lead to ongoing collaboration, problem-solving support, and shared resources. These relationships become an important leadership support system beyond the tour itself.
Importantly, this Connections Day supports innovation and continuous improvement. Seeing practice in action reduces the gap between “knowing about” improvement strategies and actually implementing them. It helps leaders identify practical, realistic next steps.
Everyone will meet at 8.30am at Chartwell Rooms, Hamilton Gardens. Delegates will be divided on the day into their bus, either bus one or bus two. Both buses will return to Chartwell Rooms, Hamilton Gardens by 2pm.
2.00-3:00 Collaborative Session
3.00 Wrap up and thank you. There will be refreshments available for you to stay around to continue connecting with colleagues.
